it was amazing

no capacity for feelings

I didn’t think this book would have me in my feelings too, but it does.
Oki has some deep rooted issues that I know we haven’t scratched the surface of and have not been revealed. The why. Why she so self sabotaging, why is she so sexually reckless, why she says she doesn’t want emotions but the next minute she mad that Saint won’t show her any, why she keeps making bad choices with men, why doesn’t she recognize that she is worth more than sex, why doesn’t she recognize that she deserves love…why?!?!
Saint has got his emotions so locked down that he doesn’t share them with nobody. The Baptiste brothers weren’t given the safe space to show emotions so they had to bottle them up in order to be men and handle business. He is emotionally detached or he likes to believe he is and can’t recognize and reconcile that he has slipped and has feelings for Oki - love! I was given him some slim passes because nobody, especially men can read minds. But what happened he did was inexcusable, he knew he was taking things too far but he let his pride, revenge and a need to teach a lesson go too far. He saw it and made a faulty decision to continue on. Unforgivable. He doesn’t deserve it.
Two people who bank on their incapacity to have feelings and emotions and accept romantic love.
Excellent read!
