This first book in a series of six serves well to set up the world as it is, the world as we know it (which aren't always the same thing) and big changes which are coming. SCP put a great deal of passion and flair into this work, and it shows in the reading. And I'm always down for Something New in vampire lore, and ooh, baby, this has got several. I'm not going to bring any of it to the review, because SpOiLeRs, hehHA. Take that.

I look forward to the rest of the series and to seeing where these paths twist and turn.
