Nature's Metropolis: Chicago and the Great West

I could say so much about this book. I went in expecting a history of Chicago and its relationship to nature and the west but it was so much more. This dive into the evolution of business practices and economic history as it relates to the connection between city and nature is fascinating.
I took a class by Bill Cronon in college and this book makes me wish I asked more questions and read more deeply. But I do appreciate him deeply for having us read Sand County Almanac and his first work Changes in the Land. Amazing book and an even better professor.
