I think one of the reasons I like this book is because it provides a sense of realism compared to the fluff in the YaYa book. For all those women that believe they are only capable of mentally digesting useless chick lit, and they blindly read books by their favorite chick lit authors-I'm sure they hated this book with a passion. Our world is not a Disney cartoon, and there are plenty of people that have addictions, and that consciously emotionally/physically/sexually exploit and abuse others. These characters, although very scarey at times, are really believable.

Oh yeah, her writing ability is quite amazing too...

LeiAnn that is the truth

Dana Very true! I like stories about real life.

Lisa Harmon Amen. I just made a similar comment on another person's review who only gave it one star. She, and others, were so horrified by the actions of the characters they couldn't appreciate the actual story. I don't have much love for fluff and "Life is Good" type novels. I want to read something that makes me think, that makes me reconsider my viewpoint.

Arlinda Ibezim I think the chick lit comment was unnecessary and reductive, but yeah. This book isn’t for the faint of heart.
