Wendy Tyson's debut, Killer Image, portrays a fascinating psychological thriller from multiple points-of-view, although namely Allison Campbell's, a Philadelphia image consultant. When Allison is coerced into taking on Maggie, a teenage client for the daughter of a politician seeking reelection, she finds herself sucked into a recent murder investigation of a local divorce attorney seemingly killed in a ritualistic manner. Maggie's relationship with the attorney's son and her rebellious nature make her a prime suspect, but Allison believes her innocent.

Tyson's tight writing keeps the story compelling, and although romance takes a back seat to the mystery, there's enough to satisfy the romantic suspense seekers. The psychological tension is a live wire in this story. Tyson leads you into the dark, domestic entanglements of Philadelphia's upper crust through a trail of clues that will keep you guessing until the end.
