I'm not a reader of romance-- more doing research because I'm writing a rom-com-ish book after four novels that are more thriller, psych thriller, complicated relationships.
That said, I fell for the main character. It was a journey of self-discovery more than a search for love, with the first step being to learn to know and appreciate herself.
It was my "one day / soak up the pool day / read until the last page / summer escape."
