I read this in total because China Miéville is my favourite author. I respect Reeves as a person too although I am not a fan of his acting. The characters, or caricatures, are shallow, as if in black and white. The descriptions are so bland that visualization is difficult, if not impossible. The narrative makes little or no sense. It was a real disappointment after having pre-ordered it.Its only saving grace is the eloquence of the writing.
