really liked it
bookshelves: fiction, own-a-copy, 2019-read-your-shelves, authors-of-color

20 years later, I finally re-read this gem. I honestly remembered nothing, but I found the story deep and enchanting. The characters, Olivia and Kwan, are interested and flawed and wonderful. This is not plot driven by any means, but it is beautifully done.

Amy Brown (amylikestoreadalot) Ooh, I might need to do this for my reread challenge in 2020. I love Amy Tan!

Lizzi This is one of my top books of all time. So excited to re-read it for the challenge.
