Always Coming Home

Whilst I appreciate the detail Le Guin has brought to bear in describing the fictitious Kesh people of California I did find it rather tiring in the end.
Although there is a small element of actual fiction in the book it doesn't really amount to much, the majority of the book concerns the life, rituals and arts of the Kesh and without some engaging characters to latch onto I found it a bit of a slog to be honest.
