A Desolation Called Peace (Teixcalaan, #2)

This novel is a continuation of A Memory Called Empire. I liked it a bit more than the previous book. The reason is that there is even more emphasis on linguistics, and the challenges inherent in communicating with a truly alien people. Also, the 11-year-old heir to the throne, Eight Antidote, becomes a more central character, so well-developed! He becomes a hero in the story. But I didn't care as much about the politics, which seemed rather unbelievable to me.
Again, the author throws out technical terms without a true understanding of their meanings. And again, the narrator Amy Landon does a wonderful job narrating the book.
