Murderland: Crime and Bloodlust in the Time of Serial Killers

Pedantic doesn't cover it. Superfluous use of imagery for scenes that do not relate in any way to a serial killer or lead. I spent an unnecessary time reading about OWL, a man who made countless maps but never received appropriate recognition and bridges. This book lacks industry accepted research methods. In other words, clear data with facts. It assumes that a few men of the PNW were affected by lead poisoning due to unregulated smelting but ignores the rest of the population, especially women, that were present and evidently unaffected. The author inserts herself further creating bias. I was looking forward to a scientifically backed theory by an author vs a researcher but received a novel at best.
