Black Spire (Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, #2)

Having visited Disney's Galaxy Edge, I was excited to read a novel set there.
This book is a mess.
The pacing is a mess, the story doesn't seem to flow so much, as you can see the writer going through her checklist.
The obvious 'big plot moment and now we pause' structure is frustrating.
The cast is likable, but mostly just there.
Our heroine tells us she's really good at her job, while her actions don't ever support that.
And her quirky, sarcastic robot is interesting for about five minutes and then becomes annoying, while doing very little.
She doesn't feel like she took advantage of the setting, more just names drops and moves on.
Also, she apparently used a bunch of stuff from another Star Wars novel she wrote, that I had no idea was connected.
So, marvel has done both a comic and a novel set on Galaxy's Edge and neither manages to get across how cool the park is.
