Too much exposition for my taste. I don’t need a full chapter detailing every item in each of Tom’s pockets, and I don’t need the full life story of every intelligence operative he meets. The book is kind of like a car with a bad fuel pump: alternating between full throttle and coasting, which is disappointing considering how much I have enjoyed all of the author’s other works.
