it was amazing
bookshelves: more-plot-than-romance, reread-worthy, supernatrual-top-favourites

I accidentally saw two spoilers - which I hate that I did, but I’m also excited to see them being played out in this second book.

I am absolutely loving and devouring, Eric hating on Nathaniel, while Nathaniel is clearly trying to look after Eric and is being soft with Eric only. The banter between them is so smooth and flows really well.

Book 2 definitely starts off faster than the first one and pulls you in much more quickly.

I was pleasantly surprised by the insight into Nathaniel’s childhood. I didn’t expect to learn about him to that extent, so it was a great turn of events. His back story was extremely fascinating and fun to read, especially learning more about him and his twin brother.

I hate the fact, how Achaicus and Nathaniel use to have such a cute relationship only for it to be destroyed because of the dad.

I also love how fae ages are compared to human ages, making it easier to understand just how old they really are.

I really do like how we get different POV of the same scenario occurring as it doesn’t feel repetitive since the scenes don’t overlap immediately. The added in extra detail from each perspective adds more depth and understating which really ties it all together.

Nathaniel - “You’re such a brat,” I muttered, and he smiled slightly.
Eric - “At least I’m not a bastard.”

I love how these two quotes sum up the kind of relationship Eric and Nathaniel have with each other.

Chapter 26 is my favourite chapter from the book!

The fighting scenes are written so beautifully - you can vividly picture everything as it unfolds.

The ending still catches me off guard. Just like in book 1, book 2 ends in a way that reminds you that the story is far from complete, and there’s so much more to come.

I can’t wait to carry on reading! I usually drop slow burns, but the Eric Linnaeus series completely pulls you in - there’s always something happening to keep you hooked.

I still don’t like Claire and she is not likeable whatsoever. I really wish she could be killed off!
