The last 10-15% picked up significantly and had a twist or two I hadn’t seen coming which is why I am giving this book three stars despite a number of pretty annoying flaws IMO.

Seriously this could have used a pretty aggressive edit. Whole scenes and entire characters ultimately made no difference to the plot at all.

Also if I had a drink for every time the main character’s first response to just about every question was to just repeat the question, I’d be… very drunk.
