A Lesson in Deceit had all of the supernatural dark academia vibes one could want. I adored Riley from page one and loved her even more as she enrolled at Mystic Riegan to solve the mystery of her dad’s death. Riley is smart, driven, and stubborn (all of my favorite things!) and watching her navigate the relationships with her men, while unraveling the academy’s secrets, was not only enjoyable (the banter, the yes sirs, the enthusiastic consent) but HOT. And yes, yes, it’s a Why Choose, but I am the Captain of Team Asher.
