Deadly Assets is the second book in the Allison Campbell mystery series and follows Allison, who is an image consultant, as she seeks to find the connection between the mysterious disappearances of two of her recent clients.
The first client is a elderly Italian heiress who has spent the last forty years completely housebound in her home in the Finger Lakes of upstate New York. The other is an eighteen year old pop star from Pennsylvania.
Both ladies go missing shortly after hiring and meeting with Allison, leaving her to believe it's too coincidental to NOT be connected, or are they? Despite feeling threatened by the families, Allison knows there has to be something or someone in common to both clients and it's up to her and her consultant team to figure it out before they become the next to mysteriously disappear.

While the first book of this series, Killer Image, is definitely worth reading (and I recommend it for your pleasure) I don't feel it is totally necessary to read it to find this book equally interesting and enjoyable. Since only a handful of the main characters carry over from the first book, I feel Deadly Assets could very well be read as a stand alone.

Deadly Assets marks the third book I've read by author Wendy Tyson. Happily, I have been thoroughly pleased with all three. Wendy is extremely skillful in luring the reader into the story, making us care for the characters and giving us snippets of insight and clues along the way, but still managing to leave some surprises for the reveal at the end. She has easily become one of those authors who I would eagerly jump to read.
