Read the entire book while waiting for my son to have oral surgery.

This second book in the Edgewood series takes teens Russ, Nadia, Mallory, and Jameson along with adults in the Praetorian Guard to Peru to look for someone missing for sixteen years. Cool powers are still cool! Relationships change, there are surprises and betrayals, and the beginnings of love (view spoiler).

The stakes are building!

One thing, though: the copyeditor needs some remedial English lessons. I really resent being thrown out of the story at one of the most dramatic moments with errors like "She laid by the road." I did not want to blink and wonder "laid what?"

Plural possessives get the apostrophe after the s. Parents'. Parent's means belonging to one parent. Stuff like this kicks me right out of the flow, grumble grumble, stamping cane.
