I would have to pick Judith McNaught. Judith McNaught's books are full of emotion. My favorite book of hers is Whitney My Love. I read it for the first time when my husband was stationed in Iraq. It's the only book I've read more than once. Every time I read it, I cried! It's hard to pick up her books and not finish them within a day or two. After my husband came home I was still in Judith world!

Esther Friesner is a good one too, if you like mythology at least. she has Ancient Egyptian, Ancient Greek and one book of Ancient Japanese out. <3 (the egyptian two are the best :3)
