Team Tiger's Eye
Hi everyone. I don't think I've met any of you before but hopefully by the time this is over we all will be friends. I look forward to the game starting.
Hi team! I can't wait to start.I've been collecting books with hard-to-find letters. Can it be the 22nd yet? :)
Hi Amanda! and Sheila! I thought I (from Team Malachite) would drop by to say howdy and tease you all....because we are going to be the team to beat! lol
Margaret wrote: "Hi Amanda! and Sheila! I thought I (from Team Malachite) would drop by to say howdy and tease you all....because we are going to be the team to beat! lol"Hey! Long time, no talk. ;)
So...does this mean we're going to the library on Monday?

Right! My goodness when was the last time? hmmm.... a couple of hours? :D lol....imagine that, going to the library :P of course after we have some good vegetarian eats at South Pine!
Hi guys I didn't know teams had been assigned. Awesome. I loved this challenge the first go around. Hope I can keep up with you guys.
Joanne wrote: "I was looking at our spreadsheet... Is blue-violet our colour for the first week?"Yes, that's our first color to spell out. We got stuck with some difficult letters right off the bat.
U and V!?
Maritza wrote: "So is there any particular way that we will be listing books read?"If you could do something like this:
by J.R. Ward Characters: Bella, Zsadist
I'll pay attention to the title and author, but I won't always know what the character's names are if they aren't mentioned in the synopsis.
So...where are you all from and what are your favorite genres?I'm from California, in the Sierra Nevada Foothills. It's really beautiful around here. :) Even though we're desperate for rain right now.
I read pretty much any genre except for biographies. I especially love epic/high fantasy and historical fiction. Lately I've been on a historical romance binge.
When you all get a chance, could you please post a link to your wheelathon shelf?I was looking through my books last night and I have a good supply of U and V books.

lol...your books? you make it sound like a modest pile, are your team mates aware that you have your own library in your apartment? I wish! :D
Margaret wrote: "lol...your books? you make it sound like a modest pile, are your team mates aware that you have your own library in your apartment? I wish! :D "*ahem*
Who, me? ;)
lol! Every time I come to visit you, I feel pulled in to the very back of your apartment and those books are whispering and tempting me. Yep, you have a library and I actually get this excitement and start looking and drooling just like at the county library! no joke! lol
btw...Laura is on the Sapphire team and we are planning to discuss The Walking Dead. Are you aware of our TWD discussion plans? We can venture over to the purple side and discuss.
hehe, hi Amanda! I found Kerry Anne and told her where to find us! Your new teamies are welcome to join our Walking Dead discussions!
I recognize Shelia from our Longmire and Elly Griffiths discussions! Hello Shelia!

Margaret wrote: "Oh...Longmire series! I need to get started on the books....I have heard so much about them. I pledge to myself that I will be starting them in April. :D "Yes! You'll love Walt Longmire. He's a great character and the books are really well-written.

Isn't it a long series? I hope that I'll be able to find them all. :D oh....sorry to tell you but Darryl is not all yours! hehe ....I totally love his hard exterior with a soft warm center. He needs just needs some love and lots of understanding.
Hi Everyone! I'm fairly new to this group (NBRC) and I'm looking forward to this!I'm from Hendersonville, TN (right outside of Nashville). I enjoy historical fiction, classics, and many nonfiction books. I'm enjoying broadening my reads here on GR.

Laura wrote: "Margaret wrote: "Amanda wrote: "Margaret wrote: "Oh...Longmire series! I need to get started on the books....I have heard so much about them. I think I read through to the 6th book. Not sure why I stopped. Which reminds me I haven't put them all as read but perhaps this year I'll read them all over again. :D

Hey Tammy! What type of historical fiction do you like? Bernard Cornwell is my favorite HF author. I love a good battle scene.

Hi Tammy...I am from Team Malachite and probably will be popping over here poking my nose in here because of several reasons. Amanda may have to boot me out...lol I see that you have many of the same book interests as my own. So, I'm following you. Welcome to NBRC it is great fun and you'll meet so many fantastic people here. :D

I think War and Remembrance is the book that got me started with HF. I recently read The Age of Innocence an liked it. I loved Remains of the Day. I'll have to check out Bernard Cornwell.

I'm definitely going to have to read it some day. She's read several of my recommendations and I've only read one of hers :).
Bernard Cornwell is a great writer. He's especially good if you like battle scenes and military history.

I'm in Winnipeg, Canada. I'm not sure what I would say my favourite genres are, I always have trouble with that question. I like a lot of things and read a lot of contemporary fiction, literary fiction, historical fiction, some sci-fi, some non-fiction, YA. All over the place I guess. Reading is my hobby and my passion (like all of you I'm sure).
I'm probably a bit of a slower reader than many on the team, but I can usually get through 2-3 books a week.
My team shelf is here
I was already planning on reading Unwind in the very near future, so you can put me down for U. Or, if it works better, it could be used for L (character name)
Joanne wrote: "I was already planning on reading Unwind in the very near future, so you can put me down for U. Or, if it works better, it could be used for L (character name) "I love the Unwind series, Joanne. I hope you like it :).
I'm also a very eclectic reader. It seems to help keep the reading slumps away.
Hey everyone,I didn't realize this was starting so soon! I'm Karla. I live in Federal Way, Washington. I'm trying to juggle a few team challenges now. I hope I didn't over-extend myself!
I enjoy reading a wide variety of books. I just won't read erotica or old western books, other than that, I am open to trying new things.
My shelf is here
