Wow! That's pretty impressive. It was inspired by a real chain of overseas boot camps. I have links to some articles on my web site.
I read your book Shock Point one summer, when I was eleven or twelve, and I still think about it almost every day.

:) I loved 'Shock Point'! I read it around the beginning of the summer (late June/ early July)and I still think about it every now and then! Thatcher is probably one of my favorite characters of all time.
Clare Bear wrote: "Oregonians unite!! =D"I didn't realize you were so close. LK Madigan and Lauren Kate and I will all be at Powells Beaverton on Saturday, October 2 and 2 pm if you ever get out that way and want to meet us.

There's a good book by Gail Carson Levine called Writing Magic that will give you some good ideas about how to be a better writer. You can get it at the library.
It's like anything else - first you're not very good, but if you keep working at it you get better.
Wow! That is so cool! Thank you for passing it on. I have another book out called Torched, about a girl who goes undercover with a radical environmental group. And then next fall I'll have a new one about a blind girl who gets kidnapped called "Girl, Stolen"Thanks for sending me my first-ever message on Good Reads. I can't even figure out why it doesn't show my profile pic.
