Cinder
Author: Marissa Meyer
Book: Cinder
No. I didn't like it. Don't like the music, the narrator's voice, or the color scheme. I think I'll delete my HOLD for this book at the library if this represents what it's like.
Wow. Seriously? You base your opinion of the book by a 30 second YouTube video? I feel sorry for you.

please don't judge a book by it's trailer. It really is a good book. Besides, most of the time book trailers are just too low budget to bring the book justice.
It's such a good book, this trailer sucks. I can't believe this is actually going to make up your mind! They didn't even get the Queen's hair colour right!
I appreciate that they're trying to market this series, but I feel like this trailer really missed the mark.
The book is descriptive enough to not need the definitive character visuals shown. I completely agree that it doesn't capture the book well.
I've not read the book, but this trailer is terrible.
I don't understand why someone would make a live-action trailer for book.
Are we not allowed our own imaginations anymore?
I think they should make the trailer more.. Descriptive? LIke ,get into the novel a bit more? How am I supposed to say this..? Hmm...

These trailers are always awful!! You should see the ones for Vampire Academy - so unintentionally funny!!
The book is amazing. This trailer just makes the book seem horrible. It just doesn't make it seem like the book that I know and love. I think that there could be a better way to represent this book in video form.
I like this book trailer more than most because it uses actual video and voice over, instead of still photos. Not bad considering the standards.
Eh... It doesn't do the book justice. But hey! It's just the trailer! Please don't base your decision of to read or not to read on this trailer!
It's not good for a preview of the book, but then again books really weren't meant to have trailers like movies. I have read Cinder and enjoyed watching this little clip .
I enjoyed Cinder. At first I thought that writing the story of a futuristic Cinderella, based on the original story that has been told so many times that it's almost sickening, would be cheesy and a literature disaster, but I was actually pleasantly surprised by the cyborg concept. While I do think that the trailer doesn't do the book justice, it captures the basic plot.
I'll be honest...as a book trailer producer and a reader, this trailer did not do it or Marissa Meyer justice, but the book was amazing! I would highly suggest you forget the trailer and try the book anyway. It really was a great book. I just finished it and am starting book 2!

I hated the trailer. but the book is absolutely magical, amazing, and actually isn't really goopy. Plus the actors in this don't express the characters properly. I really urge you don't give up on a book because of the book trailer!

apparently not

Agreed."
I agree. Wonderful book. Trailer didn't do it justice.
The trailer is weird, while I like the images, it plays up a romance that's really minor, and makes Cinder seem shallow. The book's good, but the trailer seems like for another book.

Exactly! Well said.

Serisouly, Cinder is supposed to be asian! The author provided an image of Cinder in her 0.5 short story, it's the cover. I'm surprised no one's brought that up.
Waah, all the people in the video were not at all how I envisioned any of the characters...
But the books are exceptional!
Who ever did the casting call for this really stinks. In the least they should have talked to the author to get an idea of what she envisioned when she created her characters.
It's obvious from the trailer the producers did no research, and they did nothing more than get the story outline. This was possibly slapped together in 15 to 30 minutes?
The book deserved better. If I had not read the book, this trailer would have given me the impression that this was a shallow and uninteresting run of the mill teen drama. It's so much more than that.
This was the worst book trailer ever... It represented Cinder in all the wrong ways... It is NOTHING like the book...
This trailer ruined this awesome book , it makes it sound so stupid where as the book is so good. Any one who watched this and immediately thought it sucked ,please reconsider your opinion,
Please do NOT base your opinions on such a terrible trailer, I'm sorry book people but book trailers never get the story right. If you have to watch them watch them after you've read the story, when you have already set your opinion, envisioned the characters, and understood the actual plot.

Don't go judging a book on the trailer! Yes it sucked but I've been listening to the audio book for a couple days now and its really good

It's really no different than the opening trailer for a movie or reading a review from a magazine, newspaper or amateur reader. It's just a different medium.
The trailer can't force you to read a book only influence your decision. Many people here have decided to reject the trailer based on its awfulness. Whether you read the book or not is still up to you.

agreed....
I think it doesn't represent the characters all that well.
Wow, I really liked this book, and that trailer gave such a different feel than the book did. Ignore the trailer. Read the book.
