Another top sight in Cincinnati is the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, which outlines the incredible journey that African American slaves took across the Ohio River on their way to the north and to freedom.

The state was home to the Wright Brothers, who are credited with discovering human flight. The Wright Cycle Company Complex – a museum founded in the brothers’ honor – has guides on hand to talk about the important role of aviation in Dayton’s and in Ohio’s history.

Finally, music enthusiasts should pay a visit to the world famous Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. The impressive structure, located in Cleveland, offers iconic artifacts from some of the world’s biggest rock and roll stars.

Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Garden in Columbus features beautiful gardens, and outstanding collection of plants, and seasonal nature-based exhibitions. Hocking Hills State Park offers you numerous opportunities for hiking, bird watching, and camping. Some of the highlights of this state park are Cedar Falls, Ash Cave, Old Man’s Cave, and Cantwell Cliffs.

Nestled in Cuyahoga National Park, Brandywine Falls presents a 65 foot drop that looks like a scene from a fairytale. A boardwalk leads you to the gorge from which you have an unfettered view of the waterfall and the berea sandstone rocks. You can also explore the surrounding areas by hiking along the 1.5mi. long Brandywine Gorge Trail.

Hocking Hills State Park

The park is home to Old Man's Cave, a deep gorge with waterfalls. The cliffed around the Rock House area are equally stunning. There are hiking trails with various levels of difficulty.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum

This museum archives the history of rock and roll's most influential artists, producers and engineers. The likes of U2, Lou Reed and Metallica have performed here.

Cedar Point Amusement Park

America's second-oldest operating amusement park is called "America's Roller Coast" thanks to its 16 racy roller-coasters on the scenic shores of Lake Erie.

CMA houses a permanent collection of more than 45.000 exhibits. The grounds are lovely and the cafe serves good food.

National Museum of the U.S. Air Force

The official museum of the U.S. Air Force draws more than 1 million visitors annually. Look out for the post-Cold War era planes, and the replica A-model Wright flyer.
