Much of ADR3-N's lyrics can be found in the Penultimate Mix so I also strongly recommend you give this a listen once you've finished with this one:
Long, long overdue extended version of Can You See the Clouds Divide (original in sidebar). This was originally intended for last year's (2023's) Sketch Collab, but we ran into a bunch of issues that prevented us from finishing it on time.
When @midgetsausage announced the theme of this year's Sketch Collab as "rhythm game" and mentioned that all music submissions needed to keep to 120 BPM, I felt the time had come to completely revisit this song — not least because the original was 10 BPM faster. Work, gigs, health issues both physical and mental, and a slew of other things prevented us from starting this early, but we scrambled in the month of October to get this done.
All in all I have 70 mixer tracks -- and that's AFTER I condensed my vocal takes from 15 to 3, and ADR3-N condensed hers from 62 to 7.
Massive, massive thank you to all credited, in between scrambling with me to get this done, giving me mixing feedback, and in the case of ADR3-N... well, you can literally hear what went into this. I want to extend that message to whoever might need it, who is struggling mentally right now.
To the rest who didn't get chance to collab, let's work on something together in future!
@AceMantra is on lead synth in the intro and choruses.
@Albe is on a bunch of different synths in the bridge section, as well as rhythm guitar and ukulele sequencing on the chorus sections.
@tapestoppa is on a bunch of different synths throughout the song.
@BBank has a guitar solo at the end stretch.
@ADR3-N is vocals and drum sequencing.
I'm the composer and producer, as well as keys, bass sequencing, and main chorus vocals (mostly the ones from the original).
@MixRPD is mastering.
Special thanks to @MixRPD and nessiethemonster. for offering mixing feedback that proved integral to the final form of this piece.
Artwork for this track is a modified form of the original that I drew many, many years ago:
