This is a fun little film score-esque piece that I wrote inspired by Reagan Lodge! He is a fantastic artist and a wonderful person So go check him out if you have the time!

Inspired by: https://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/reaganlodge/there-is-nowhere-to-run

The piece is supposed to chronicle Wyit and co. escaping from the colonel, who is after Wyit for unknown reasons. Although I have no idea what actually unfolds within the comic, I made up my own sort of story base off of the image.

0:00 - The colonel begins the chase after Wyit + co. who are in an air ship

0:14 - Wyit's theme is introduced

0:34 - Dialogue between Wyit and air ship pilot

0:48 - The colonel begins to catch up and several gun shots fly by

0:56 - Wyit is told to get down and not make too much noise

1:02 - More shots are fired

1:07 - Shots are fired back from Sgt. Rek

1:34 - There is a large hole in the ship Wyit nearly falls out of it but is rescued by Sgt. Rek

1:37 - Action escalates

1:53 - 'We lost her!'

1:56 - 'Not quite...'

2:04 - One of Wyit's friends aboard the air ship is gravely injured...

2:17 - ...but they manage to make it away from the colonel.

2:28 - The colonel's troops tell her that they managed to get away, but that they know where they are headed. She dismisses them and is reminded of her mission to capture Wyit.

P.S. I'm not actually sure of what is happening 100% in the story, but these are just speculations based off of little snippets that I've seen here and there.

P.S.S. I want to post an updated version with some better mixing at some point, but I wanted to at least get this out there for AIM.

Enjoy!

Oh nice! first time hearing this piece. I like the orchestration and the mix. I honestly need to study orchestration properly as I have yet to fully dive into it, and I find this to be inspiring.

CloakedSoup responds:

Thank you! Besides taking orchestration classes for my degree in college, I do remember reading/studying Samuel Adler's 'The Study of Orchestration,' when I was in high school. Besides that, taking little tricks and textures from some of your favorite scores and applying them to your own orchestrations is always a useful practice for getting towards the kinds of sounds that you want in your music.

Amazing storytelling here! Love how you worked with themes to portray the characters. I get the feeling that you really thought about each section and the mood you wanted to create with it. It works wonderfully. The orchestration sounds very realistic, and thanks to the composition and dynamics it never gets boring. I think it could use a bit more mixing / mastering, but you already pointed that out yourself. :)

Incredible job!

Man, I almost missed your track because it's just text without any preview images in my feed and in the AIM submission forum! Suffice to say, I'm really glad that I didn't miss out on this gem.

First off, between the music and the artwork that inspired it, all I can envision is an even more militant version of Watership Down. And oh my goodness, some of the individual sections - despite how brief they are - have crazy long titles! Of course, since it's such an excellent listen, it feels like the whole thing is over in the space of a few heartbeats. Very professionally orchestrated, in general. Well done!

Now, as I listen again for a second time, it actually makes me feel like I'm listening to the score for a rabbit-themed version of Star Wars. John Williams himself would enjoy this, methinks. There are a ton of changes throughout, and all of your transitions are as smooth as silk. I can't really write fast enough to keep up with it at all, but there is no part that I don't love.

Encore! No, seriously...I have to listen just ONE more time. This is a truly fantastic piece, CloakedSoup! Best of luck with your AIM submission, man.

CloakedSoup responds:

Thanks a ton! Like I said in the description, I'm going to be updating it with a better mix + some slightly adjusted orchestration. Glad you liked it though! :D

Dude this is PHENOMENAL work! Thank you so, so much for creating this, absolutely beautiful. Seriously at a loss for words for how hard this hits me.

CloakedSoup responds:

Thanks a ton Reagan! I'm glad you liked it and I'm excited to read Wyit when it comes out.
