Summary
Anna E. Mazzucco, Ph.D., is the NIAMS Deputy Director. In this role, Dr. Mazzucco manages daily operations for the institute and manages NIAMS participation in a variety of projects and initiatives.
Dr. Mazzucco has enjoyed a long tenure at NIH, most recently as a Senior Advisor to the NIH Deputy Director for Program Coordination, Planning and Strategic Initiatives. There she advised on a range of DPCPSI and NIH-wide initiatives, including the NIH INCLUDE Project, an NIH-wide initiative on Down syndrome that she coordinated starting with its launch in 2018. Prior to joining DPCPSI, she served as the Acting Associate Deputy Director and the Strategic Advisor on NIH-Wide Activities within the Immediate Office of the Director. In these roles, she led a range of activities focused on NIH-wide collaboration and interdisciplinary approaches.
