This system optimization tool suite takes aneverything-plus-the-kitchen-approach to cleaning, optimizing, andpotentially speeding up your PC. Auslogics BoostSpeed includesmodules and wizards for just about any kind of tweak oroptimization you can imagine, organized into seven majorcategories: including Computer Clean Up, Optimization, Privacy andSecurity, System Control, System Information, and Windows Tools. Acategory called “Introduction” includes tools for cleaning yourhard disk, defragmenting it, and performing a one-buttoncleanup.
Each section of Auslogics BoostSpeed includes many differentmodules. For example, Privacy and Security includes a tracks eraserfor removing traces of your computer use and Internet browsing, afile shredder, and more. Most modules and wizards are simple touse. The Internet Optimizer, for example, is wizard-based, andmakes changes without you requiring any special knowledge. However,if you’d like, many let you delve into details–the InternetOptimizer, for example, will show you changes it plans to make tothings such as Maximum MTU values, and allow you to keep themunchanged on a one-by-one or all-at-once basis.
Depending on the state of your system and its components, youmay or may not see a significant performance boost from thisprogram. Relatively fast, clean PCs may not show obviousimprovements, while PCs cluttered with junk and with olderprocessors will likely see more improvements.
Is the program worth the $30? If you want to wring every lastbit of performance and customization out of your PC, and aren’ttechnically astute enough to do it yourself, Auslogics BoostSpeedmay well be worth it. But if you’re willing to spend more timetweaking your system–or you just don’t need so manyoptimizations–it’s a lot of money to pay.
