Qualcomm Vamseedhar Reddy 1 Computer based exam and 3 rounds of interview 2 profiles. 1. ASIC design. 2. network software engineer. both has 1 written exam plus 3 rounds of interview ( 2 technicals+ 1 HR) 3 sections: 1 aptitude 2. C,DS 3. techinical - mostly DSP 1st and 2nd interview on Digital Design. Standered questions on Muxes, State diagrams. 3rd HR interview 8 students were selected, 5 from SPCOMM, 3 for Digital Design and 2 for Software

in both profiles 1. aptitude. 2. C, ds. for asic technical mostly digital design. in software profile OS. software interview mostly on networking ideas and C proficiency.

Nvidia

Nvidia Cadence Design Systems

1 written exam and 3 rounds of interview (2 technicals + 1HR) 1 written exam and 4 rounds of interviews (3 technical + 1HR) (one Shivashankar extra interview for me) 1 written exam and 3 rounds of interview(2 G Chandra Sekhar technical and 1HR) Sambuddha Kumar

aptitude, C, DS, OS

1st technical. On term paper and project. Implementation of few practical problems in C. Boolean logic opearation and corresponding C algorithms. 2nd technical: on random number, PDF, Again C and boolean logic operation. HR interview is purely non technical ( example:tell me about you, why NVIDIA, why software profile)

With good knowledge of networking or with networking subjects in coursework, networking software profile is better. Otherwise, ASIC profile is better, if offered. ASIC profile none from SPCOMM was selected needs good knowledge on digital design. This year they offered only software profile, last year they recruited for hardware profile also. If you have Image/video processing as subject/ thesis topic, then they may ask about term paper or project in details. but overall your software 3 from SPCOMM were selected plus knowledge matters. image/video proc in profile is NOT another in waitlist. mandatory criteria. 3 from SPCOMM were selected plus another in waitlist. 2 chose Nvidia, other 2 chose cisco (multiple offers) There was sectional cutoff for individual sections

aptitude, C, DS, OS aptitude, C/C++, DS, OS and digitsl circuits(especially state diagram representation) Test is easy ....Time management is very crucial... no negative marking.. 3 Sections 1.Apti 2. C , DS...These 2 sections are very easy 3.Technical section is the deciding factor....DSP , Filters , Signal processing techniques

1st technical: On term papers, thesis and C. 2nd tech : purely on C. 3rd: some mathematical puzzles and C, HR: general HR questions 1st interview is fully on my thesis work then asked about the questions given in the written test (aptitude n technical) 2nd interview fully on C and DS 3rd HR interview

Written test had C,DSP and Apti

2 Technical Rounds + 1 HR round Technical--Digital Design , MUX, Finite State Machines desiging questions , Puzzles ,CMOS , PMOS, Basic Computer architecture questions, HR--tell me abt urself, choice of place of joining 3 Profiles were offered 1> Protocol stack development for 4G 2> VLSI related profile 3> Software Related Profile I chose the first one. Interview Questions in 1st round are as below, -> Tell me about yourself -> Explain MIMO-OFDM, operations involved and their necessities, PAPR, -> difference between Linear conv and Circular conv? when are they same? Give examples to support your answer. -> C questions on bit fiddling: Find whether num is power of 2 using a single if statement, reverse the order of bits of an integer and some other bit related questions 1st Round Techincal: -> Different layers in OSI Model -> When I type "www.google.com" what all will happen in different layers? Difference between OSI and TCP/IP? Devices which fall in different layers? -> Write ANY sorting algorithm which you know. -> Count the number of bits set to 1 for a given integer 2nd Round Techincal: -> How do you insert an element into a sorted double link list? -> Given two intervals (a,b) and (c,d) how do you find whether they are overlapping or not?

3 profiles 1.Software, 2. DSP/Communiation , 3.Hardware Design.... This time they were looking more hardware designers.... Total 9 Selected 5 SpComm (3 in Hardware Design profile , 2 in DSP/communication profile)

general aptitude Apti+C+DataStruct+OS. .no negative marking.Apti was tough. onlinetest:apti(easy)+Data structures in c++(tough)+logical reasoning(moderate) Offlinetest:2 questions for which suitable algorithams have to be written

5 selected. 2 for digital design + 3 for software. among the 5, 2 were from SPCOMM knowing C++ is an advantage. But knowing how to reverse a linked list is mandatory.know at least the basics of Networking and OS. Whatever you say be confident. They dont know what is ur thesis or term paper actually. Oracle had openings in 4 profiles, However they took 6 members for only server tech profile, and 1 for application profile(this guy from spcom only), for application profile they are looking for mainly for CS people, So prefer server tech profile 1.Aptitude book by R.S.Agarwal 2.Let Us C -Yeshwant Kanitkar 3.Data Structure Through C 4.Test Your C Skills-Try to solve all the relevant chapters from this book.Important for objective questions in C. They only want students with communication background.

aptitude + c programming gave two data structure problems in subjective test aptitude and c , os , data structures computer networks this is regarding software design In the written test they will ask to write D.S programs two profiles 1.software 2. and in interview they will ask to ASIC design debug it only 5 technical questions 30 min duration 1.Digital logic design 2.communication related topic 3. O.S question 4. program (simple ) 5.another Signal processing profile technical question Protocol stack 1 technical test: qsns on development for 4G probability, estimation detection (Signal processing & theory, 1 techincal interview, 1 Communication profile) phone interview, 1HR interview

2 selected one spcomm and one from cse

all the books are listed above

3 rounds 1 technical (regarding all computer network basics, o.s,real time applications of o.s, data structures, last but not least C programming )and another technical round if needed and finally HR i had only 1 round 3 people will be in the panel first they asked me to explain my project and questions regarding the project and they have given my written test paper and asked me to solve the question which i cannot able to do it in exam and they will ask some basics regarding C(time complexity, sortings,Data structures) , term papers also and HR questions like why you are willing to join cassidian ?what do you know about it? and some puzzles 3 people will posing questions towards you thats for sure In technical interview they asked about my thesis (speech signal processing), term papers , Phone interview on wireless communications mainly on my term paper MIMO, Almouti Coding and some puzzles. qsns like finding linear convolution using circular convolution. Two profiles 1 software and another VLSI, for software they asked about C, DS, and qsns based on resume like thesis, software skills etc, 1 HR interview on soft/ behavior skills like conflict of interest etc another HR interview is a standard one Complete technical interview was based on written exam. So solve your written exam paper before going to the interview. Qn which I could not solve/ wrong , were asked and qn related to written paper too were asked.

Mostly time constraint is the major factor try to solve first technical questions and then write the program and finally actually they haven't shown much the aptitude questions they will select very few members interest on SPCOMM but we did well from written test they have selected 20 from nearly 250 for in the interview written test
