1.0 INTRODUCTION
Definition of Open Source Software

Open-source software (OSS) is

computer software with its source code

made available with a license in which the

copyright holder provides the rights to

study, change, and distribute the software

to anyone and for any purpose. Open-

source software may be developed in a

collaborative public manner.

Definition of Open Source

Hardware

Open-source hardware (OSH) consists of physical artifacts of technology designed

and offered by the open design movement. Both free and open-source software (FOSS) as
well as open-source hardware is created by this open-source culture movement and applies a
like concept to a variety of components. It is sometimes, thus, referred to as FOSH (free and
open source hardware).

2.0 The latest Open source application system

2.1 Meaning of Open source application system

Open Source Operating System is a set of programs that schedule tasks, allocates
storage and presents a default interface to the user between application that performs a
particular function for the user that provide for use, modification and redistribution.

2.2 Examples Of Open Source OS

Linux
Linux is, in simplest terms, an operating system modelled on UNIX. It is
the software on a computer that enables applications and the computer
operator to access the devices on the computer to perform desired
functions. The operating system (OS) relays instructions from an
application to, for instance, the computer's processor. The processor
performs the instructed task, then sends the results back to the application via the operating
system.

5.0 Pervasive Computing

5.1 Meaning of Pervasive Computing

Pervasive computing means that the technology is gracefully integrated in our
everyday life. The user is no longer aware of this embedded technology. It also refers to
computers contained in common place objects. It appliances and implies that people are
unaware of their presence. Pervasive computing uses web technology, portable devices,
mobile devices, wireless communications and nomadic or ubiquitos computing system.
Example :

Apple Watch

Apple Watch is a smartwatch developed by Apple Inc. Apple Watch is designed to be

worn during all your daily activities, from morning workouts to nights out. It incorporates
fitness tracking and health-oriented capabilities as well as integration with iOS and other
Apple products and services. The device is available in three "collections": Apple Watch
Sport, Apple Watch, and Apple Watch Edition. It is capable of receiving phone calls as well
as iMessage and SMS texts.

Smart Phone

A smartphone

(or smart phone) is a

mobile phone with an advanced mobile operating system. They typically combine the
features of a cell phone with those of other popular mobile devices, such as personal digital
assistant (PDA), media player and GPS navigation unit. Most smartphones have a
touchscreen user interface, can run third-party apps and are camera phones. The rise of the
smartphone has taken place much more quickly than most experts initially expected. This has
led to an influx of intelligent mobile phones within the enterprise, as more employees now
want to bring their personally owned gadgets into the workplace.

6.0 Conclusion
Open source is basically a denoting software for which the original source code is
made freely available and may be redistributed and modified. Pervasive Computing is to
make our lives easier because we can interact with computers.Besides that, we can easily give
the computer commands and the computer will grant your wish.
