3 WORK PROGRESS
3.1 REVIEW OF DESK STUDY REPORT
‘The desk study report prepared by the company and submitted to DoED for the application of
survey license has been reviewed. In addition, other available relevant reports/data has
collected to identify the requirement of details on data before conduction of site visit.
2 PREPARATION OF INCEPTION REPORT
After the revision on desk study report and immediate site visit, inception report is being
prepare and planned to submit within a couple of week. During the preparation of inception
report, the consultant is being focused on detailed hydrological study, geological data
interpretation, survey outputs, geomorphology etc. The final inception report will be the
composition of following areas:
+ The findings of the reconnaissance field visit and present possible alternatives
+ Finalized field investigation program
‘* Approach and methodologies to conduct the feasibility study
* Updated work plan and schedule
+ Estimate the tentative quantity of field survey and investigation work
* Selection the best alternative for the further study
SITE VISIT
‘The Consultant has conducted a field reconnaissance and visit to the project site covered by all
project components. Engineering studies has been carried out with respect to the topographical
and geographical features, geological, hydrological, meteorological and_sedimentological
aspects of the project area, After the reconnaissance study, frequent site visit of consultants has
been carried out basically for the tasks as mentioned below:
‘+ Topographical Survey
‘+ Establishment of Gauging Stations at different areas
* Geological Investigation
‘© Construction Material Survey
3.4 TOPOGRAPHICAL
SURVEY
‘The first site visit was held from Bhadra 14, 2075 (30% August 2018) to Bhadra 29, 2075 B.S.
(4% August 2018) for Topographical Survey. The team was responsible for Monumentation
of Control Points, locating a Trigonometical point of Survey Department, GoN and conducting
DGPS survey to compute the coordinates of established Control Points at possible project
location including headworks, adit tunnel, inlet portal, Surge shaft, Powerhouse and Tailrace.
After that on 2ist November 2018, Survey team has been mobilized in field for detailed
Topographical survey and it is been completed by the team of Consultant. Now, the team is
involving to produce topographical maps required for the project planning and design. As the

3.8 HYDROLOGICAL STUDY
In order to assess the flow condition of the Seti River, a team of the Consultant visited the site
from 28th September to 7th October 2018 and installed two gauging stations, one at headworks
and another at powerhouse. The flow in Seti River was measured by using Current meter at the
installed gauge station. A staff-gauge was installed to keep records on variation of water levels.

$1 INSTALLATION OF GAUGING STATION
There was no gauging station established within the project boundary. During field visit two
gauging stations were established at both headworks and powerhouse location as shown below.
A suitable location was selected to install a staff gauge by careful observation to the river
stretch from headworks to powerhouse, considering flow in the river and accessibility of the
location,

352 FLOW MEASUREMENT
The flow measurement was carried out using Current meter. Appropriate Location for measuring
discharge, using current meter was selected by reconnaissanceS survey along the river stretch. A
suspended bridge located 3 km downstream of proposed dam location, near Chainpur Bazar was
