Which Lord is more powerful between Lagna Lord, Rasi Lord and Nakshatra Lord in Vedic astrology?

LAGNA LORD REIGNS SUPREME….ALWAYS!!!

But it’s not about ‘power’, it can be taken as the most important ‘factor’. Because the different factors
complement each other in determining the outcome of a horoscope and are not in any competition for ‘power’
to reign supreme.

Satyacharya says so in the Satya Jatakam:

‘The fortunes of a native are to be studied with reference to: the ascendant lord; (2) the lord of the ascendant in
the Navamsa diagram; (3) the lord of the birth star; and (4) the lords of the rashis occupied by the above three.’

Now the ‘birth star’ itself is based on the lagna:

‘If the ascendant is stronger than the Moon, the lord of the star in which the ascendant falls, is to be taken as
the birth star. If, on the other hand, the Moon is stronger than the ascendant, the lord of the star in which it is
posited is to be taken as the birth star.’

So the strength of the lagna lord itself determines which birth star to be third determinant for the fortunes of a
native.

So even a system which is Nakshatra based uses the strength of the lagna lord to determine which nakshatra to
be used for the analysis as the birth star.

It goes on further to give the Pancha Siddhanta or the 5 principles for predictions.

They are:
(i) Graha Seela (the behaviour of nature of the different planets)
(ii) Karakattwa (Significator)
(iii) Nakshatra (stellar positions of the planets)
(iv) Swavarga (positions of the planets in the rasi, Navamsa, hora, Drekkana and other varga charts)’

So when the nakshatra system itself rules the strength of the lagna lord supreme then it goes without saying
that the lagna lord is the most important factor

And this is supported strongly by Parashara who says:

‘ek ev vilagnesh kendrasanstho balanvit || arishtha nikhila hanti pinaaki tripura yatha ||’

‘The ascendant lord is singly capable of counteracting all evils if he is strongly placed in an angle just as Lord
Siva, the holder of Bow, destroyed the three cities (built of gold, silver and Iron by Maya for the demons)’

Of course Nakshatra decides the dashas and hence is very important. However the results of the dasha also
pertain to the relation the Nakshatra lord has with respect to the lagna lord and also the placement of the lagna
lord in the horoscope.

So the lagna lord is of primary importance in astrological predictions and everything else comes next.
