The 3 basic identities:

 sin2 x + cos2 x = 1
 1 + tan2 x = sec2 x
 1 + cot2 x = cosec2 x

16.5 ADDITION FORMULAE

 sin (A + B) = sin A cos B + cos A sin B


 sin (A  B) = sin A cos B  cos A sin B
 sin (A  B) = sin A cos B  cos A sin B

 cos (A + B) = cos A cos B  sin A sin B

16.6 DOUBLE ANGLE FORMULAE

 cos 2A = cos2A – sin2A Applying identity cos2 A + sin2 A = 1,
then, cos 2A = 2 cos2 A – 1
cos 2A = 1 – 2 sin2 A
