In building and construction projects, there are various approaches for it to turn out successful.
But one thing is for sure – an operative teamwork between the people involved. It is achieved by
a systematic way of communication among them. CSI, then, developed the MasterFormat as a
communication standard.

The CSI format further developed the existing nature of the teamwork between designers,
clients, and constructors. Since a construction project is composed of people with different
expertise (an architect, engineer, etc.), a standard link between them is essential. Specifically, an
architect, who also experts in functions, methods and use of building materials, greatly benefits
in the introduction of such format in order for him/her to communicate more clearly the given
specifications to his/her colleagues in consideration to the outcome of the project. Thus, a less
complicated and easily workable environment is introduced.
Conclusion
The introduction of CSI format and its divisions served a standard in building and construction
that fuels the people to be involved in the intricacy of building materials’ functions to projects.
The construction industry gained integrity in achieving projects that continuously helps
generations of architects and other professionals in being critical to construction requirements,
specifically in building and structural materials. Because of this, complexity among these materials
and methods are mounting as modernization in building and construction continues.
