Activity 2 - Internalization

A.) Characteristics - Operates in three dimensions, originally used

in carving and modelling.

My promotion - Pottery is an art that creates many things that is


very useful for everyday life like cups, plates, pots,
etc.

B.) Characteristics - It emphasizes the expressions of every individual and

their emotion.

My promotion - Music is very useful for us in a way that we can express

our feelings and thoughts in a harmonic and memorable

way.

C.) Characteristics - Instruments are used to produce sound and form

harmony. It is also a way of expressing ones emotion.

My promotion - Instruments in music can be combined in vocal sounds

to produce a harmonic and meaningful songs.

D.) Characteristics - Colors are strong and content is symbolic.

My promotion - Paint art is very popular in our country, example is the

tribal tattoos of indigenous people in Philippines that

offers men protection, bravery in battle, or signified

their tribe.

E.) Characteristics - Uses body movements with tempo and rhythmic patterns.

My promotion - Dance have a huge part of our history, it makes people fit

and happy, example of this is exercise and dance battle.

G.) Characteristics - Based on abstract expressionism.

My promotion - Weaving is a very rare talent, you will need a lot of experience to
make a masterpiece. It can be done using hands or machines.

Activity 3 - Let us go deeper

1. Painting - is the practice of applying paint, pigment, color or other


medium to a solid surface. In art, the term painting describes both the
act and the result of the action. Moreover, painting emerged in
prehistory, when nomadic people made use of paintings on rocky walls.
2. Dancing - the movement of the body in a rhythmic way, usually to
music and within a given space, for the purpose of expressing an idea
or emotion, releasing energy, or simply taking delight in the movement
itself.The origins of ancient dances in 9000-year-old India or 5300-year-
old Egypt, but the records more common infusion of dance into a
modern culture can be found from Ancient Greece, China, and India.
3. Weaving - is a method of textile production in which two distinct sets of
yarns or threads are interlaced at right angles to form a fabric or cloth.
Cloth is usually woven on a loom, a device that holds the warp threads
in place while filling threads are woven through them. The first historical
traces of weaving in the Philippines was found in a cave in Cagayan
Province and Palawan Island dated 1255 – 605 BCE.
4. Sculpting - it is to create solid objects that represent a thing, person,
idea, etc. out of a material such as wood, clay, metal, or stone. The
earliest known works of sculpture date from around 32,000 B.C. Early
man created utilitarian objects that were decorated with sculptural
forms.
5. Pottery - one of the oldest and most widespread of the decorative arts,
consisting of objects made of clay and hardened with heat. Examination
of the earliest samples of Philippine pottery yet found about 1000 BC
in Palawan, with potsherds appearing in a Masbate cave dated 1275
B.C.
6. Music - An arrangement of sounds having melody, rhythm, and usually
harmony classical music. From its origin, OPM is centered in Manila,
where Tagalog and English are the dominant languages. Other
ethnolinguistic groups such as Visayan, Bikol, and Kapampangan, who
are making music in their native languages, rarely break into the
popular Filipino local music scene.
