Synopsis of Electricity Billing System

The purpose of Electricity Billing System is to automate the existing manual system
by the help of computerized equipments and full-fledged computer software, fulfilling their
requirements.

Electricity Billing System, can lead to error free , secure, reliable and fast
management system. It can assist the user to concentrate on their other activities rather to
concentrate on the record keeping.

The main objective of the project on Electricity Billing System is to manage the
details of Electricity, unit of Energy, Bill, Store record. It manages all the information about
Electricity, Connections, and Electricity. The project is totally built at administrative end and
thus only the administrator is guaranteed the access.

As the name specifies “ELECTRICITY BILLING SYSTEM” is software


developed for managing various activities in the electricity board. It is used for computerizing
the electricity bill preparation of the consumers. The project also contains programs for preparing
various kinds of reports such as customer, connection, bill details and bill payments. Our project
also aims at developing a system that is meant to computerize the work performed in the
electricity board like generating electricity bill and store record of customers. This particular
project deals with the problems on managing a electricity board and avoids the problems which
occur when carried manually

Identification of the drawbacks of the existing system leads to the development of


computerized electricity billing system that will be compatible to the existing system with the
system which is more users friendly and more GUI oriented. We can improve the efficiency of
the system management, thus overcome the drawbacks of the existing electricity billing system.
Less human error, Strength and strain of manual labor can be reduced, High security, Data
redundancy can be avoided to some extent, Data consistency, Easy to handle, Easy data
updating, Easy record keeping, Backup data can be easily generated.

OBJECTIVES

The main objectives of this project work are that:

 To reduce the manual processing time.

 To make the system easy for handling by organizing the system in the regular order.

 To reduce the maintenance cost of the system.

 To easily incorporate the future developments and changes.

 Maintain an error free data base.


The scope of the system depends upon the following things:

 It satisfy the user requirement

 Be easy to understand by the user and admin.

 Be easy to operate.

 Have a good user interface.

 Be expandable.

The Electricity Billing System contains the following modules:

1. Admin form: Used to add users


2. User form: Used to user can login into Electricity Billing System
3. Customer Details form: Used to handle customer. Such as adding or removing customer,
searching particular customer, modify customer details.
4. Connection Details form: Used to handle connection. Such as adding or removing
connection, searching particular connection.
5. Generating Bill form: Used to generate bills.
6. Bill details form: Used to check the details of particular bill.
