as shown in the figure below:

(Figure 1: X-axis assembly) (Figure 2: Y-axis assembly)

(Figure 3: Knurled high-head nut)

2. As shown in the below illustration, place the X-axis assembly above the
Y-axis assembly horizontally, align the screw hole position with the protruding
screen below, keep it horizontal and downward for the installation on the Y-axis
assembly, and finally install the four knurled high-head nuts by tightening them
in the clockwise direction.

3. Plug the Y-axis stepping motor's wiring as per the direction indicated in the
illustration into the motor's wiring port which is designed to prevent reverse
connections, and it is necessary to differentiate the direction of the wiring port.
4. Plug the limit switch's connection wiring as per the direction indicated in the
illustration into the switch's wiring port which is designed to prevent reverse
connections, and it is necessary to differentiate the direction of the wiring port.

Installation of Software
The software installation package for laser engraving is contained in the TF
card attached to the packing. You may insert the TF card into a card reader
and connect it to a USB port of a computer to access the installation file therein
or visit the following address to download the software:
https://www.cxsw3d.com/ziliaoxiazai46.html

1. Select a location for software installation. It is advisable to select a location

in a disc other than the disc C.
2. Creat a desktop shortcut.

3. Click installation.
4. Finish and run the CreailtyLaser Software.

Software introduction
1. Double click the "CrealityLaser" software icon on the computer to open the
CrealityLaser software. The interface is as the following:
1. Menu bar The menu offers operations of the opening and deletion of image
files, export of Gcode files, etc.
2. Mode selection area The mode selection area enables the selection from
the three modes - Outline, Grayscale, and Blackwhite.
Outline: the outline mode enables automatic recognition of the outline of an
image. Adjustment of the image threshold value should be made if the file
opened is in a supported non-svg format.
Grayscale: the grayscale mode enables the conversion of an image to a
grayscale image. A grayscale image would reveal different shades. Thus, it is
necessary to adjust the image threshold valve beforehand.
Blackwhite: the blackwhite mode enables the conversion of an image to a
black-white image. A black-white image only has the black or white color. Thus,
it is necessary to adjust the image threshold valve beforehand.
If an image has relatively rich details, the "greyscale" mode will be
recommended for engraving. If an image only has black-white effects, the
"blackwhite" mode will be recommended for engraving. In addition, svg is a
vector diagram, which is not supportive of grayscale and black-white
engraving.
3. Preview Area The preview area is an area used to preview an engraved
graph. It is corresponding to the engraving area of the machine. An image
placed in the preview area will be engraved on the corresponding position.
4. Console The console allows the switches between the parameter pannel
and the edition area.
5. Parameter panel The parameter panel offers selections of materials and
settings of power, velocity, and image size.

6. Edition Area The edition area enables the edition of texts inserted, the
relevant setting of fonts and font size, and the creation of images or QC codes.
Software operation
1. Click "select a file" from the menu bar and find out the image file for
engraving. Click to open, and export the image to the CrealityLaser software.

2. Select the image file for engraving.

3. Preview the image file. On the left is the original image, whereas on the right
is the preview one after adjustment. If the rendering effect is not satisfactory, it
will be possible to drag the slide to adjust the threshold value of the image and
alter the preview image.

If an image file is opened in the greyscale mode, it won't be necessary to

adjust the image threshold value.
4. Click finish and you could see the image in the preview area from the below
figure. It is possible to switch to the required mode for engraving via the mode
switch area on the upper left corner. The image threshold value will be
readjusted if the preview effects are not satisfactory in the mode.

5. Set materials, parameters, and location, and export the gcode file.
At present, the software is internally fitted with recommended parameters for
some common materials. Users could make adjustment independently and
save the common parameters using the save button indicated below, and also
adjust the parameters to the initial value using the initialization button.

Power: the laser engraving power, in %, the maximum value is 100%.

Velocity: the laser engraving velocity, in %, the maximum value is 100%.
Image width, image height: the image size is adjustable therein. Input the
required value for adjustment and click the "Enter" button to adjust the image
size accordingly. The width-height ratio is locked during adjustment - the width
and height of the image are adjusted according to the same ratio. Users just
need to adjust either the width or the height.
Position adjustment: in the preview area, drag the image using the left
mouse button to adjust the processing position of the image. Please see to it
that the processing area boundary should not be crossed over. Otherwise, the
surrounding frames of the image will turn red from green, and the adjustment
of images to the proper position will be necessary by then.

Export gcode file: prior to the export of the code file, please make sure the
parameters and positions have been set correctly, and then click the "export
Gcode file" on the menu bar.
Then, save the file to a proper path.

Upon export, the expected processing time will be displayed on the "estimated
time" by the side of the menu bar.
Start engraving
1. Firstly, save the gcode file (namely the previously saved the gcode file) for
processing to the TF card attached to the machine.
It is necessary to note that the machine only processes the first gcode file.
Besides, if not used for the first time, the TF card will have a "BIN" file for
judging the necessity of outage continuous engraving. Hence, it is advisable
to:
Delete the BIN file and the prior used gcode file before each processing.
2. Connect to the power supply and turn on the switch. Wait until the
machine is reset. If the machine is not reset, please turn off the switch
and check whether the TF card is correctly inserted into the card slot or
whether the stepping motor is properly connected. When problems are
settled, turn on the switch again, and wait for the machine to reset.
3. Place the materials for engraving beneath the laser module, press the
function press keys on the right side of the operation panel, preview the
processing area, and confirm if the processing area is proper.
4. Focusing
Put on google, place the paper for focal adjustment onto the materials and
beneath the laser module, and adjust the focal length via the rotary knob (as
shown in the below figure) on the laser head. When the size of the focal point
from the light lamp is minimized on the paper for focal adjustment, the
adjustment will be completed, and the paper could be removed.

5. Start processing. Upon confirmation of the processing area and proper

focusing, press the function press keys on the right side of the operation panel,
and start the engraving.

Cautions:
In the process of engraving or cutting a relatively thin object (such as
paper), the laser may penetrate it and leave scars on the working plane. It is
advisable to place a plane object (such as aluminium alloy or stainless steel
sheet) that is impenetrable by the laser on the working plane onto which place
the processing materials again.

Requirements for engraving materials

Engravable material types:

 Copy paper

 Corrugated paper
 Plank
 Acrylic
 Fabric
 Leather

Advise against using:

 Uneven materials
 Wet materials
 Very dirty materials
 Materials containing PVC or vinyl (advise against processing plastics).
These materials (and other materials containing chlorine/chloride) would
produce corrosive vapours, posing damages to the human body and the
machine. If the processing of these materials is needed, please operate in
a well-ventilated environment and take proper personal precaution
measures.
 Any unknown material. The vaporization and melting of materials -
including but not limited to PVC and polycarbonate - would release
harmful mists.
Notes:
The use of poor quality materials may lead to dissatisfactory engraving/cutting
effects.
The use of materials advised against above might damage the
equipment, which is not covered in the warranty service scope of the
product.
Some SVG format files would have relatively large blank areas, affecting the

engraving experience. The use of the open-source software Inkscape could

solve the problem through the adjustment of the SVG file canvas size. Search

the "Inkscape" software in a search engine to download the software.

How to alter the SVG file canvas size using Inkscape

1. Input the file for adjustment, click the "file" on the menu bar.

2. Click "document properties (D)".

3. Click "Resize page to content (Z)" in the popup dialogue box.
4. Click "resize page to the drawing or selection (Ctrl+Shift+R)" in the page.
At this point, the canvas has been adjusted to the same size as the image.

5. Click "file", and click "Save a Copy (A)" to save the file.
6. Select a path for saving the file, click "Save as type" in the dropdown menu, and select the

"Inkscape SVG" format to save.
