THE LUDIC STRATEGY

Answer the following questions about the topic. You can find information in the power
point presentation on this week. 

1. What is the ludic strategy?

The ludic process prevents learning from becoming a burden or an obligation, and ensures the
capacity to learn, by means of faster and easier learning and by applying the learned aspects
into something practical.

2. What are the advantages of using the ludic strategy for foreign language
teaching?

Ludic activities enhance the speaking skill, self-confidence, and motivation for learning. This
strategy motivates and engages the students to learn in a funny and interesting way. The
activities can be developed with all the educational levels; primary, secondary, and superior
levels and they can be organized individually, in pairs or in groups.

3. How is the ludic strategy related to stimulation and motivation in foreign


language learning?

Studies show that playing games in the classroom can increase overall motivation. Students
become more motivated to learn, pay attention, and participate in-class activities. They can
also be a great classroom management tool, helping to motivate a class. Playing games help
improve student attentiveness when learning a new language.

4. Is it possible to teach grammar through the ludic strategy? What do you think?

Internalizing grammar using ludic skills is possible. It makes it more interactive and familiar
to the student’s reality. They practice through games and ludic activities, and understand how
useful it is to learn it. Whatever activity that involve students moving around, talking loudly,
or even celebrating or complaining if they won the contest or not, may be considered more
useful than having students in silence and bored in a grammar class.

5. What contents in foreign language can be taught through the ludic strategy?

Grammar, Vocabulary, Speaking and Written Skills, Listening, Reading Comprehension.


Almost all the curricular contents in all levels can be adapted into ludic activities.

6. Do you like learning through games and fun activities?

Yes, i love learning a new language through games and fun activities, it really causes in me
pleasure, and excitement , which are the essential ingredients to feel engagement in a class.

7. What are your favorite games to learn English?


My favorite games are Hangman, Fruits Basket, Word Association, Pictionary, Crosswords,
and The Damaged Telephone.

8. Which game would you like to play next class? Prepare your oral presentation. 

I have chosen Word association. The main goal of a word association game is to help
students make connections between words. These can be words related to a particular subject,
key vocabulary words, or just random .It is essential to practice vocabulary at any level.
