Acknowledgement regarding Adult or Offensive-Upse ng Material

Please be advised that it is possible that your specific requirements for providing services to the
Search team may at mes require you to access, download or otherwise view pornographic or other
offensive or upse ng material that is normally prohibited by TELUS Interna onal AI Inc.’s Electronic
Communica ons Policy. For example, pop ups with adult material/images or offensive content may
appear from me to me on your screen when you browse the internet and look at different
websites.

TELUS Interna onal AI Inc. understands that this is within the scope of the services you provide to
TELUS Interna onal AI Inc.. To the extent your access to otherwise prohibited pornographic, sexually
prohibited, or o t h e r offensive or upse ng materials is directly related to your job du es you will be
permi ed to have qualified access to these otherwise prohibited content and material.

Certain projects, however, may require exposure to adult material or other offensive or upse ng
content. Should you become an Internet Assessor, you will be given the op on as to whether you wish
to have exposure to such material. If you choose to opt-out from these types of projects, then you will
not be exposed to such material and you will not have to work on any tasks that are related to such
content. In addi on, you will not be disqualified from being considered for future search projects.
However, although you may opt-out from these types of projects, it is s ll possible that you will be
exposed to adult or other offensive or upse ng material. TELUS Interna onal AI Inc., for example,
cannot prevent pop ups with adult material/images from appearing from me to me on your screen
when you browse the internet and look at different websites. TELUS Interna onal AI Inc. disclaims all
responsibility for such events occurring and any such exposure you may have to adult or o t h e r
offensive or upse ng material.

If you choose to work on projects involving Upse ng-Offensive Content, please abide by the
following:

The Internet contains a wide variety of content, including content that many users find offensive or
upse ng. Addi onally, users of all ages, genders, races, and religions use the Internet to understand
the world and others’ points of view. Users may issue queries on sensi ve topics to understand why
people believe, say, or do upse ng or offensive things. Search engines exist to allow users to find the
informa on they are seeking.

Working on upse ng-offensive content requires you to flag all web results that contain upse ng or
offensive content from the perspec ve of users in your locale, even if the result sa sfies the user
intent. As a general rule of thumb, Upse ng-Offensive results contain content that is so upse ng or
offensive to a reasonable person that it should only be shown if the query is explicitly seeking this
type of content.

Upse ng-Offensive content typically includes the following:

Content that promotes hate or violence against a group of people based on criteria including (but not
limited to):

• Race or ethnicity, religion, gender, gender iden ty, na onality or ci zenship, disability, age,
sexual orienta on, military or veteran status
• Content with racial, ethnic, or any other slurs against someone’s status, including those
iden fied in the preceding bullet
• Content with extremely offensive words
• Graphic violence, including animal cruelty or child abuse
• Explicit how-to informa on about harmful ac vi es (e.g., how-to’s on human trafficking, bomb
making or violent assault)
• Other types of content that reasonable users in your locale would find extremely upse ng or
offensive

You will need to think about the purpose of the page and how the content is presented when
determining whether or not the content is Upse ng-Offensive. You should consider whether or not
the content is Upse ng-Offensive based on the purpose, type, and/or presenta on of the content on
the page — not because the topic itself is sensi ve or poten ally upse ng.

Condi ons applicable to qualified access to adult or offensive-upse ng material:

Qualified access to otherwise prohibited content and material requires that you do not share, display,
distribute or otherwise publish or draw a en on to these materials with other persons or TELUS
Interna onal AI Inc. independent contractors, except as related to your provision of your services to
TELUS Interna onal AI Inc..

Please note that your qualified access to sexually explicit or otherwise offensive materials does not
permit you to knowingly or willfully violate any law with respect to pornography or child pornography
or otherwise, or any other company policy not specifically addressed by this no ce or harass any
other persons or TELUS Interna onal AI Inc. independent contractors.
