Introduction

● If you have any trouble you can ask for assistance in the ReVanced Discord server. Or
you can DM me. My Discord username is “ kobew50 ”.

● This tutorial currently is for Sync and Boost. It does not have instructions for Sync Pro.
Infinity and Relay instructions will be added when the patches for those are released.

● You need Android 11 or newer to patch the client ID patch with the ReVanced Manager.
(There may be ways to circumvent this, but it's probably easiest to patch on PC. If you
find a way to do it on Android 10 or below, please notify me.)

Client ID Setup

Go to this page.
Select, “are you a developer? Create an app”.

a) Enter an app name (it doesn't matter what you call it).

b) Set the app type to “installed app”.

c) If you are patching Sync, set the redirect uri to “ http://redditsync/auth ”

If you are patching Boost, set the redirect uri to “ http://rubenmayayo.com ”

d) Press, “create app”.


Now copy the client ID, which is directly under the app name.
Creating the txt file
For the next step you need to create a .txt file with the client ID as its contents, and then place
the file on the root of your device’s storage. For this guide I’ll use this app from the Play Store,
but many other text editors and some notes apps will work too.

The next few screenshots will show how to set up the app and create the .txt file.
Now enter in the client ID. Make sure it does not have any spaces or line breaks. Only the
client ID on a single line. Then save the file.

Name the file “ reddit_client_id_revanced.txt ”

The file must be placed on the root of your internal storage (ie: not within any folder).
You now have a .txt file on the root of your internal storage. Inside the .txt file is your client ID.
The file should be 22 bytes (for 22 characters. Nothing less or more.)

Now on to patching with the Manager!

Patching with the Manager

If you have Sync (or Sync Pro) installed on your device, create a backup of your settings
configuration and then uninstall Sync (Pro). (The option to create a backup is within the Sync
settings.)

If you have Boost installed on your device, create a backup of your settings configuration,
and then uninstall Boost. (The option to create a backup is within the Boost settings.)

Install (or update to) the latest version of the ReVanced Manager.

Give it the “All files access” permission. This is necessary for it to get the contents of the .txt file.
(This permission is only available on Android 11+. If you are on an older version use a different
device or PC.)

For Sync, go to this page on Apkmirror and download the APK. Don't install it.

For Boost, go to this page on Apkmirror and download the APK. Don't install it.
Selecting the application
Open the Manager > Patcher > Select an application.

Press the “Storage” button and then select the APK file that you downloaded.

Tap on the “Selected patches” card.


(Btw, Boost doesn't have a patch to disable ads.)

Tap on the “Default” button and then press “Done”.

Press “Patch” and wait for it to finish. If all goes well there will be no errors in the log.
(optional) If you want to save the patched APK file, you can export it by using the option within
the 3 dots in the top right corner.

Install the patched APK.

If it worked, the app name on the account access page when you sign in to your account within
the patched Sync / Boost app will be the name you set when setting up the client ID. (There will
usually be an error if it didn't work.)
Import the settings backup if you created one earlier.

Done!
