I- OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:

communication in context
Performance Standard: The learner designs and performs effective controlled and
uncontrolled oral communication activities based on context.

Knowledge: Define and identify the elements and nature of communication;
Skill: Participate actively in group discussion and;
Value: Value the importance of the elements and nature of communication.

B. DEVELOPING ACTIVITIES
Review: Ask the students to define communication and discuss its importance in
daily life.
Motivation: Show a video clip of a miscommunication scenario and ask the students
to identify the problem and suggest solutions.
IV-ACTIVITY
Ask them to come up with a skit or presentation that demonstrates the strengths
and weaknesses of their assigned mode of communication. Each group should
present their skit to the class.

ANALYSIS
V- ABSTRACTION
Ask the students to identify different communication barriers (such as
language, cultural differences, and physical barriers) and suggest ways to
overcome them.
VI- APPLICATION
Provide a real-life scenario (such as a workplace conflict or a customer
service issue) and ask the students to come up with a communication plan to
resolve the problem.
VII- ASSESSMENT
1. What are the different elements of communication?
Answer: Sender, message, channel, receiver, feedback, and context.
2. What are some common communication barriers?
Answer: Language, cultural differences, physical barriers, and noise.
3. Why is feedback important in communication?
Answer: Feedback helps the sender confirm that the message was
received and understood correctly.
4. What are the different modes of communication?
Answer: Verbal, nonverbal, written, and visual.
5. Why is effective communication important in the workplace?
Answer: Effective communication can improve productivity, reduce
misunderstandings, and build stronger relationships among coworkers.
ASSIGNMENT
Ask the students to observe a communication scenario in their daily
life (such as a conversation with a friend or a customer service
interaction) and write a reflection on the strengths and weaknesses
of the communication that took place.
INTERACTIVE ACTIVITIES
1. Divide the class into pairs and ask them to communicate a message using only
nonverbal cues (such as facial expressions and gestures). The other partner should
try to guess the message.
2. Play a game of telephone, where one student whispers a message to the next
student and so on, until the last student says the message out loud. Compare the
final message to the original message to see how communication can break down.
3. Ask the students to create a meme or infographic that illustrates a communication
concept or principle (such as active listening or the importance of feedback).
