Examples-Ch9 1

The document provides two examples of hypothesis tests. The first tests whether the mean waiting time at a supermarket has increased from a previous mean of 8.2 minutes using a sample of 25 customers with a mean waiting time of 9.75 minutes. The second tests whether the proportion of male sports viewers is greater than 0.75 based on a sample of 400 ticket holders where 352 were male. Both examples provide multiple choice questions to test understanding of key concepts like defining the null and alternative hypotheses, identifying if the test is one-tailed or two-tailed, choosing the appropriate test statistic, determining the critical region and decision criteria, and interpreting the decisions.
