Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.

Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the
engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is
not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.

Make sure all of the work tools have been lowered to the ground, and
the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil
filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool

7. Return the lift control lever to the HOLD position.

8. Increase engine speed to high idle.

9. Move the lift control lever to the full LOWER position. Do not enter the FLOAT. Hold the
control lever in this position.

Note: Do not hold relief pressure for more than 30 seconds at a time.

10. Record the pressure reading from test gauge (B) .

11. The main relief pressure should be 31000 ± 450 kPa (4500 ± 65 psi). If the pressure is correct
proceed to step 16.

If the pressure reading is not correct, perform the following procedure in order to adjust the main
relief valve.

13. Turn adjuster screw (3) in order to adjust the pressure setting. Turn adjuster screw clockwise in
order to increase the pressure setting. Turn the adjuster screw counterclockwise in order to
decrease the pressure setting.

14. Tighten locknut (2) .

15. Repeat steps 2 through 14, as needed.

16. Lower the work tool to the ground.

17. Stop the engine.
