PROJECT #2
Project Description:
RBC offers insurance coverage for some of its liability products: Loans, Credit Lines, and Mortgages.
This offer is extended to both private and business clients. The coverage (we will refer to coverage as
creditor insurance product – CIP) is not mandatory and can be purchased by the clients either with a
new or an existing loan/mortgage. CI business unit offers two products: “Life” and “Life &
Disability”. So, when a client takes a loan or mortgage, the client may (or may not) also buy one of
these CIPs. During the lifetime of these CIPs, the client may request to make changes (e.g. increase,
decrease) in the covered amount. As in any insurance business, CI business unit processes claims,
which may result either refunds or payouts. Also, CI business unit should monitor the state of the CIP
(e.g. arrears, clients’ age eligibility) and take required actions for updating the client’s CIP.
