Temenos Overview

The T24 product development is organised as L1, L2 & L3 where

L1 – deals with core functionality
L2 – deals with reusable functionality with specific reference to each geographic
location . Known as Country Model Bank
L3 –deals with non-reusable functionality for customers
This is the product architecture. The teams tend to mirror the product architecture.
Temenos Overview

Teams are split based on the various product verticals. Banking Framework and App
framework are horizontals rather than verticals
Evolution of T24

T24 was previously called GLOBUS. T24 is a product that is made up of several
products that provide specific banking functionality. For eg FT(Funds Transfer),
LD( Loans and Deposits).

Globus became T24 in 2005 after the NS(Non Stop) product was introduced.
The NS product allowed banks to input transactions in T24 even when
COB(close of business or end of day operations) were running. Users could
login to T24 by specifying the URL in the browser and giving their User Id and
Password. This popular UI is also called the T24 browser.

The latest UI gives a rich user experience and is called the UXP Browser.

T24 code can be compiled using a C compiler and is executed in a TAFC

runtime. The native Database for T24 a multi-dimensional DB called jBase. T24
can also interact with other Databases like an Oracle, DB2 database.

In newer T24 releases, the code compiled using a Java compiler and is
executed in the TAFJ runtime. H2 database is used internally for development
and testing . Clients(Banks) can use SQL, DB2, Oracle database in TAFJ.

What you see here are sample screens of the Character User Interface, Globus
desktop, Browser and the new UXP Browser

A character user interface was used to interact with Globus. This interface is known
as the classic and is popular even today.

A graphical user interface called Desktop(a Visual Basic program to create the user
interface) was introduced later.

T24 Browser is a functionally rich browser based client designed to work in a web
server or application server based architecture.

UXP Browser is the new user interface for clients retaining the familiar usability of
Temenos Browser, but offering a better user experience and richer set of features by
leveraging the Temenos Channels Solutions.
