i. Dispose of garbage quickly and correctly. Keep garbage containers clean, in good condition, and tightly covered in all areas (indoor and outdoor).
Clean up spills around garbage containers immediately. Wash, rinse, and sanitize containers regularly.
ii. Store recyclables in clean, pest-proof containers away from building.
iii. Store all food and supplies as quickly as possible.
iv. Keep all foods and supplies at least six inches off the floor and sic inches away from walls.
v. Refrigerate foods such as powered milk, cocoa, and nuts after opening. These foods attract insects, but most insects become inactive at temperature
below 41°F.
vi. Use FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation, so pests do not have time settle into these products and breed.
vii. Wet towels and mop heads should be taken to the laundry area at the end of each shift to minimize the risk of infestation by pests.
viii. Clean and sanitize the facility thoroughly and regularly. Careful cleaning eliminates the food supply, destroys insect eggs, and reduces the number of
places pest can take shelter.
6.1.1 Rodent bait stations (RBS) shall only be installed outside facility areas with distance of 12-30 meters apart (applicable if no obstruction along the
exterior facility) and 8-12 meters apart along the building. No RBS with baits must be present inside the facilities. Make sure to install RBS in fixed
position by fastening the unit on a stable ground/wall.
6.1.2 Each RBS must be tagged with specific number/code with a caution signage that RBS contains ‘’ poison’’.
6.1.3 After tagging, always make to have a locator map/ layout that maps all RBS units installed in the area. Always make sure that the locator map is
updated whenever RBS units are changed in location.
6.1.4 When placing baits in RBS, always use proper PPE in handling poison baits. Place at least one (1) piece of rodent bait block inside the RBS. Change
rodent blocks at least one(1x) a month or when the baits have moulds and is already deteriorated.
6.1.5 Secure bait blocks inside the RBS using a metal yarn.
6.1.6 Record inspection and monitoring and monitoring results on the Rodent Bait Station Monitoring Form.
6.1.6.1 Write down date when monitoring was conducted.
6.1.6.2 Write the initials or name of the Biofree SVSP who conducted monitoring.
6.2 Rodent Cage Trapping (RCT) Protocol
6.2.1 Cage traps (CT) such as cage traps, and rodent sticky glue traps (SGT) shall be installed inside and/or outside plant facilities.
Make sure to install CT in fixed position by fastening the unit on a stable ground/wall.
6.2.2 Each CT (cage trap and sticky glue traps) must be tagged with specific number/code with a caution signage ‘‘mechanical trap or sticky glue trap’’.
6.2.3 After tagging, always make sure to have a locator map/layout that maps all CT units installed in the area. Always make sure that locator map is
updated whenever CT units are changed in location.
6.2.4 When monitoring CT, always check if the unit is functional. For cage traps, the spring mechanism should snap-lock when triggered.
6.2.5 For SGT, the adhesive must still be intact and no dust and small insects trapped on the glue board.
6.2.6 Setting CT units:
6.2.6.1 For CT,pull lever arm and lock it on the spring trigger. Return the unit on its proper location. Check on the next visit if there is a catch. If there is rodent, dispose the
dead rodent immediately and clean the unit with soap and water.
6.2.6.2 For SGT, prepare adhesive on a piece of board. Place new SGT on its designated location.
6.2.7 Clean CT regularly or at least once (1x) per month to prevent unnecessary dusting and rusting that may affect efficacy of the traps. Rusted trap that is no longer functional
must be changed immediately. SGT with many small insects must still be replaced at least once (1x) per month even without trapped rodent.
6.2.8 Record inspection and monitoring results on Pest Capture Report form.
6.2.8.1 Write down date when monitoring was conducted.

6.7 IPM General Treatment Methods
6.7.1 Spraying of liquid pesticides shall be done through the use of Compressed Air Sprayer for the control of crawling insects like cockroaches, ants, termites, grasshopper
etc.Pesticides that must be used during spraying are residual type for external application and non-residual for internal facility application.
6.7.1.1 Non-Residual (type) pesticides - pesticides that have very minimal residue or no residue at all after application. This type of pesticide shall be for both
inside and/or outside usage This type of pesticide is good for insect quick knockdown and immediate kill, but has shorter and minimal residual value.
6.7.1.2 Residual (type) pesticides- pesticide that have residue which remain active for more than 16 hours. This type of pesticides shall only be used outside and
non-critically.Sensitive/Non s production areas like drainage as a safety precautions. Also, this pesticide has longer effect which is a good line of defense
for crawling insects such as cockroaches and ants that are present outside facilities.
6.7.2 Misting or Cold Fog is pesticide application that allows pesticides to remain suspend on air for an extended period of time to eliminate flying insects such as flies and
mosquitoes. Use portable ultra low volume 9ULV) or motorized mist blower and non-residual pesticides during misting application.
6.7.3 Baiting- use of poison baits for the control of cockroach and ants pests.
6.7.3.1 Cockroach baits - use of paste-type cockroach poison. Cockroach baits are to be placed within cracks and crevices or inside harbourages of ants.

e
dure in handling pesticide spill in facilities, manufacturing, and other processing areas.
14.1. In event of a pesticide spill, follow the three Cs: CONTROL the spill, CONTAIN it and CLEAN it up.
PROCEDURE
1. Control the spill
Act immediately to control the spilled product. Never leave the site unattended.
Place small leaking containers into larger ones.
If a larger container (such as drum) leaking, try to lug the leak. Then, transfer the contents to another container.
Turn off the pump to stop leaks from pressurized systems(such as sprayers)
2. Do all you can keep the spill from spreading or getting worse.
Prevent the material from entering surface water: using shovel quickly berm-off an area to keep the spilled pesticide out of drains and waterways. A spill that is contained on the surface is much easier to
clean than one that has entered a body of water.
Do not delay notifying authorities. Call the manufacturer’s emergency number on the product Safety Data Sheet (SDS) to find out what steps you or the emergency response coordinator should take to
lessen the dangers of contamination.
Report the spill and be ready to respond to the authorities arriving at the scene. Be sure to have the product label and SDS available for emergency respondent. After the spill has been contained, follow
your emergency plan. In some cases, the applicator will cal emergency respondent, who will then call the proper authorities.
3. Clean up the spill. The last step is to clean up the spilled product.
Sweep up any absorbent materials and other contaminated items and place them in the drum.
If the spill occurred on concrete or asphalt, you will have to neutralize the surface. Follow the instructions on the SDS or contact the manufacturer whose number is listed on the data sheet.
Keep records of your activities and conversations with authorities and emergency respondent when dealing with a pesticide spill. Photographs help document any related damage as well as steps you have
taken to clean up the spilled product.
