CHAPTER 1
System Overview – Basic Functions
Introduction
Fusion is a system whose main objective is the integration of devices that allow the administration and implementation of
functionalities that apply to marketing to improve sales at service stations.

The project that includes the installation of the Fusion controller in the Axion stations aims to replace the Gilbarco CEM44 – VOX
system.

Both the front panel of Fusion and the rear offer the user the possibility of connecting the devices and through a series of lights
indicate the general status of the system.

Front panel

Comp. Description

1 Info Display Shows generic errors in system and ip address when booting.

2 Status lights. The green light (Power) indicates that Fusion is connected to the electrical network (plugged in), not
that it is turned on.

The yellow light (GRIBS) on indicates that Fusion is powered on and the device communication boards are working.

3 Power button. For start/restart it must be pressed only once.

Back panel
Comp. Description
1 Network connection. The user must verify that the network cable is connected and that the lights are flashing.

2 Electrical Power Connection. The cable that comes from the outlet that powers the system must be connected.

3 Telemetering connection plate. Each telemetering device connects to a communications channel. Each channel has
two lights, green and yellow. If they are flashing, they indicate that Fusion is communicating with the telemetering
system.

4 Dispenser connection plate. Each connector supports the connection of up to 2 jets (4 sides). The flashing lights
indicate that Fusion is communicating with the pump. The yellow light on indicates that the dispenser is not
connected. If both lights are off, this indicates that Fusion is not attempting to communicate with the dispenser, the
dispenser status may be “CLOSED”.

Login to the system

Fusion is a system designed so that users can access its functionality from a web browser Chrome (Recommended), Internet Explorer,
Firefox. In any case, the user must enter the IP address provided by the installation technician in the address bar of the web browser
they are using.

Once the user requests the connection using the web browser, they will be able to access the system using the credentials that were
informed by the technician who performed the installation.

Main menu
The system has a home page, which displays a menu to access the available functionality. This functionality is related to the license and
user security profile. Some menu options may not be visible to certain users and others may not allow you access.

Comp. Description

1 Main menu.

2 User. Indicates the user who started the session.

3 Name and PBL of the station.

4 Date and time set in Fusion.

Alarm Report
If the Fusion has an integrated remote measurement system, it will offer the user the possibility of seeing the alarms that are generated
in real time in the Fusion console (See Operation Chapter) and recording each event for later consultation through a report.
Alarms Concept.
To understand alarm reports it is important that the user understands the alarm concept in Fusion. Alarms are events generated from
situations that put the environment at risk or may affect the operation of the service station. These events have statuses, Active (ON),
Active and Accepted (Acknowledged) or Off (OFF) and all of them are recorded in the system. For later use by the user.
Alarm events can be divided into two large groups, tank alarms and Sensor or Sump alarms.
Tank alarms
The following diagram describes the components that are installed in the tank at a service station when it has a remote metering
system.

float
Product

Bomb Test
Submersibl tube

Float
Water

Tank

The test tube is the component that informs the system of the height of the 2 floats, one of water and the other of height. To translate
these heights into liters, the system has a conversion table loaded. Depending on the user, the percentages of the tank that correspond
to the limits are defined so that alarm events are generated.
The tank alarms are:
Very High
Water
High Water

As an example, the following table shows real values of a productive configuration.

Alarm Tank 10000 Lts 20,000 liter tank 40000lts tank

Overfill 9500 liters (95%) 19000 liters (95%) 38000lts (95%)
High Product 9000 liters (90%) 18000 liters (90%) 36000 liters (90%)
Low Product 300 mm (see table for 300 mm (see table for 300 mm (see table for
calculations%) calculations%) calculations%)
200 mm (table is used for 200 mm (table is used for 200 mm (table is used for
Very Low Product (suction) calculations%) calculations%) calculations%)
Very High Water 50mm (table is used for 50mm (table is used for 50mm (table is used for
calculations.%) calculations.%) calculations.%)
high water 20mm (table is used for 20mm (table is used for 20mm (table is used for
calculations.%) calculations.%) calculations.%)

The events that can cause the system to stop the sale are the High Water event and the Very Low Product event (Suction).

Sensor alarms
Other devices that connect to Fusion are the sensors that will be installed in the SUMPS, both tank and dispensers. These sensors also
generate alarm events with the same concept of states detailed at the beginning. The difference is that it is not possible to configure
values, but rather the event is generated when the sensor is activated. Generally the sensors are installed in the SUMP's of the tanks
and dispensers. Sumps are plastic containers where hydraulic connections and electronic components are installed. The following
diagram shows an example of installing a sensor on a tank SUMP. The principle is the same for the installation of sensors in SUMP of
dispensers.
Alarm name Location
Sensor Sump It is activated by the presence of liquid in the sump
No tank level Tank It is activated when communication with a test tube is lost
Daily Report – Fuel Reconciliation
This report allows the user to view the data generated as a result of the reconciliation or balance calculation. The calculation basically consists of
comparing the theoretical stock difference with the actual sale reported by Fusion. To access the report the user must enter through the menu. Tank
Management -> Reconciliation -> Daily Report.

The report also offers the option to filter so that the user can easily find the information they are looking for. With the option to include details you
can see the values day by day. You can also select net values or temperature compensated values.
The calculation of the difference will be carried out using the following variables.

OPERATIONS
Tank Operations
Tank status
Entry of manual tank readings
The system allows the user to access information on the status of the tanks. This information is recorded automatically whenever
Fusion is connected to a telemetering system. In case the tele-metering system is not installed or is not connected/integrated to Fusion,
the system offers the option to enter the manual measurement value.

To enter it, the user must access the Operations menu ->Tanks>Measurements/Downloads.

The user must complete the product measurement and water measurement values that were recorded with manual measurement. The
user can enter the measured value in millimeters or liters. If the value entered is in millimeters, Fusion must have the tank tables
configured.

Manual download entry

In the event that the system does not have a telemeter installed and connected, the system offers the user the possibility of recording
tanker truck discharges manually. To do this, it is necessary to indicate when the download starts and ends so that Fusion can count the
sales that were made during the download.
Download Start
To inform the system that the download is starting, the user must enter the Operations ->Tanks -> menu.
Measurements/Downloads

Then you must press the button, “Start Unloading” before beginning the tanker unloading.
From that moment on, the status of the tanks will indicate that a discharge is in progress and this status can only be changed by
indicating to the system that the discharge has finished. It can be verified from the tank status menu.

End of download
To tell Fusion that the download has finished, the user must enter the current tank status menu, Operations -> Tanks -> Current Beach
Status.

By clicking on the Enter end Download link, the user will be able to enter the value unloaded by the truck in the box corresponding to
the product measurement. This value corresponds to the difference between the manual measurement recorded before downloading
and the manual measurement recorded once the download is complete. Finally, pressing the finish download button, Fusion generates
the record with the values corresponding to the download

Entering download notes

The system allows the user to relate the value of the unloading, both automatic and manual, to the value of the shipment or note that
the truck driver gives them. To register the shipment, the first step is to create the shipment and then the download can be related to it.
To generate the remittance income you must enter Operations -> Tanks -> Remittances.
In the first instance, the user must generate the document (receipt or Note) and then relate it to the product download received.
