All-in-one POS systems have a limitation of integrated peripheral
interfaces due to their design. The use of a modular interface hub offers
a flexible solution here, on the one hand to improve the possibility of
expanding I/O ports and on the other hand to improve serviceability
through simplified cabling.
Innovative Technology
The BEETLE Multi-Interface Hub Gen. 2 is the latest generation
of our Diebold Nixdorf USB I/O hub products. To this end, the hub
uses the multifunctional and powerful USB Type-C interface to
communicate with the DN Series BEETLE all-in-one POS system.
The I/O hub offers a comprehensive set of legacy as well as modern
interfaces for connecting the various POS peripherals including
DisplayPort with modern USB-interfaces and Ethernet network.
This enables the migration of existing peripherals and future-proof
integration for devices.
The I/O hub thus serves as a central service point for the connec-
tion of all peripheral devices at an all-in-one POS workstation. This
means that the POS-specific peripherals are connected to the POS
system via the multi-interface hub Gen.2 with only one cable, by
means of USB-C. This also includes the 24V power supply of the
POS system. In the event of service, this eliminates the tedious con-
necting and disconnecting of the cabling at the POS system, which
thus significantly reduces the service effort.
