Big Hero 6: Apple and Privacy Policy

Team Plan and Topic: You chose a good focused topic at the very beginning, and divided up roles.

Team Thesis Statement & Perspectives: You showed the perspectives of customers, Apple, competitors,
and the FBI. There was quite a bit of similarity between perspectives (except the FBI). It was not until the
end that we knew where the group stood on the topic.

Team Presentation:

 Introduction: I liked the video introduction as it provided a good background of the story and
what the issue was. You also did a nice job with the timeline and of telling what would be
presented by whom.
 Arguments Support Thesis: For the most part, your arguments supported your thesis. There
were not as many distinct perspectives—the points related to consumers, Apple, and
competitors were all similar. It was good to present the FBI viewpoint first and then refute their
points from the three perspectives. However, as I mentioned, there was not much difference
between the three perspectives.
 Conclusion: Your conclusion was that guaranteeing consumer privacy is more important than
terrorist prevention. And your presentation for the most part supported that conclusion.

Teamwork: Good teamwork. You might consider thinking how to manage time as a team better.

Feedback for each team member:

 Dinh Nguyen: Good job with the introduction. You are a confident presenter, and you used
humor well. You also were very helpful to your teammates. Teamwork score: You would have
received a 10, but you did not turn in your Peer Evaluation Form.
 Ngoc Anh Tran: You were well-prepared, and you made some very good points. You are a
confident speaker and engaged the audience. Teamwork score: 10
 Huyen Pham: Your presentation was well-researched. The competitor’s viewpoint is the same as
Apple’s essentially. You did get lost in your presentation. More preparation and more practice
with public speaking will increase your confidence. Teamwork score: 9
 Ngan Nguyen: You referred to notes on your phone which was good rather than looking at the
slides behind you. You had a lot of details to support your perspective, but you should consider
time management. In a five-minute presentation, you have to pick the main points and the main
data to support it and not try and present everything. Teamwork score: You would have
received a 9, but you did not turn in your Peer Evaluation Form.
