COMPETENCY BASED CURRICULUM

A. Course Design
Course Title COMPUTER SYSTEMS SERVICING
Qualification Level NC II
Nominal Training Hours Basic Competency 40+4 = 44 hrs.
Common Competency = 80 hrs.
Core Competency = 160 hrs.
S.I.L. = 76 hrs.
TOTAL = 360 hrs.

Course Description:

This course is designed to develop & enhance the knowledge, skills, & attitudes
of a Computer Systems Service Technician, in accordance with industry standards. It
covers the basic and common competencies in addition to the core competencies such
as to install and configure computers systems, set-up computer networks and servers
and to maintain and repair computer systems and networks.

Trainee Entry Requirements:

 Can communicate either oral and written;


 Must pass the trainability/aptitude test.
 Must have completed at least 10 yrs. Basic education or an ALS grade 10
certificate of rating holder. Must have completed at least 10 yrs. Basic education

 Can communicate either oral or written;
 With basic computer skills
 Must have an internet connection
 Must have access with computer or mobile devices

This list does not include specific institutional requirements such as educational
attainment, appropriate work experience, and others that may be required of the
trainees by the school or training center delivering the TVET program.
