PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE OF REF NO:I/WI/MNT/LIFT/001

PURPOSE:
To Provide detail procedure for performing planned preventive maintenance of Elevators.

SCOPE: All types of elevators installed in the plant.

RESPONSIBILITY : Technician

DEFINITION : ---

1.0 PROCEDURE:
1.1 Power Supply Isolation and safety
1.1.1 Follow electrical safety WI No. Q/WI/MNT/ES/001 before starting the job.
1.1.2 Follow general instructions as per WI No Q/WI/MNT/GPPM/001 planned preventive
maintenance.
1.1.3 Ensure room is clean and ventilated.
1.1.4 Open and clean the control panel with vacuum cleaner.
1.1.5 Check all control connections for looseness, overheating. Tighten if found loose.
1.1.6 Check the condition of contactor contacts for overheating, blackening, pitting etc. replace
the contact set if any of above sign is noticed.
1.1.7 Check all the fuses and fuse holders for overheating or looseness, if there is any
overheating observed replace fuse /fuse holders.
1.1.8 Check and adjust all the overload relay settings as per the connected load
1.1.9 Test all the overload relays by using manual trip features, replace if found defective.
1.1.10 Check and tighten all motor terminals, observe for looseness or overheating, rectify if
noticed any.
1.1.11 Check insulation resistance of the motor winding.
1.1.12 Check for the proper operation of control and safeties.
1.1.13 Check for the proper operation of door limit switches. Check and tighten the
connections.
1.1.14 Clean the landing and car door sills.
1.1.15 Close all panel door covers firmly to prevent entry of dust, moisture and any other foreign
materials.
1.1.16 Check for the proper operation of brake and tighten if required.
1.1.17 Carry out greasing for the wire ropes, moving pats, gear assembly, pulley, doors
assemblies etc.

1.1.18 Check for proper double earthing.


1.1.19 Check for the proper working of fan and light inside the cage/cabin.
1.1.20 Contact authorised service engineer of manufacturer for help in above activities if
required.
1.1.21 Record all above activities annexure Q/RF/MNT/LIFT/001.
Frequency : Six Monthly
